SYNOPSIS
Juana (17) and Mara (14) only have each other. Since their parents’ tragic accident, they live with their aunt in her farm, where they work in the production of honey.
Their bodies burn from within. Mara, eager and restless, wants to discover and experience everything. Juana, on the other hand, strives to contain her desire and repress her destructive drive.
Their cousin’s arrival from the city shakes the stillness of the farm. Although at first they resist, the sisters end up inviting Lucio into their lives. The three of them become friends, and desire grows between them. But the triangle breaks the sisters’ bond. While Mara wants to experience her sexual awakening with Lucio, Juana becomes increasingly jealous. As Mara becomes more distant, Juana wants her even closer. The tension between the teenagers grows. And, as Juana’s plans continue to get thwarted, this family’s summer becomes a fierce experience. The hive is preparing for the arrival of a new queen bee.

A KING FOR THE PATAGONIA (An Underdeveloped Superproduction)
2011
In 1971, the graphic artist and publicist Juan Fresán sets out to make a film about the incredible story of Orélie Antoine de Tounens, the mad French man who, 100 years before, had proclaimed himself as "King of Patagonia and Araucaria" with his own constitution, currency and ministers. The film was called “La Nueva Francia”, but it was never finished for two reasons; lack of funding, and because the author was forced into exile to Venezuela. If the story sounds familiar, it might be because in the 1980s Carlos Sorín made “A King and His Movie”, inspired by that frustrated shooting, where he worked as the director of photography. In 2004, Fresán contacted Lucas Turturro to help him rescue the film footage that had been preserved.
Fresán died in July of that same year, but Turturro decided to follow the trail of that truncated film and to recover unseen material, by returning to the original locations, and gathering testimonies to shed light on the two tales –one inside the other– that compose this true story, which is stranger and more fascinating than any fiction.

If movies are "dreams" of reality, what are the dreams within movies? What do they tell us?
A young director begins to explore the life hidden behind cinema’s dreams, digging through hundreds of scenes from different eras and places. This investigation leads him to create a project that invites the audience to immerse themselves in the unconscious of cinema and a group of theorists to debate these mysteries. An essay on the dream-image and the possibility of revealing that truth is expressed as fiction—because if cinema is not made to translate dreams, it does not exist.
